Tracking Dogs for Wounded Deer | John Jeanneney 2nd Edition
Some books are a must for the tracking dog owners bookshelf and this is one of them. The book is well written and has a clear easy to understand style about it. It is extremely informative and laid out in an easy to follow format including a very useful summary at the end of each chapter. It covers all aspects of the use dogs for tracking wounded deer including the choice of breed, (though we would hope you would pick the Bavarian), equipment, techniques and excellent wound identification information. The author clearly knows his subject and his commitment to the subject is clear from the passion and style of his writing. Whilst written with the American hunter in mind the book is equally relevant to the European stalker whatever their level of ability. A book of this calibre in English has been absent for to long, thankfully John Jeanneney has done much to redress the balance.
Quotes; About the best book on the subject I have ever read in 40 years of shooting - GWC Baron van Tyrell, V-President of the Game Conservancy Trust.
