Bavarian Mountain Scenthounds
available in the UK
Why Zerno?
Before the Second World War, Zerno (Zerna) was a small town in Poland, it is now in Lithuania. Alison’s father was born there and the Kennel was named in his memory.
Who we are and what do we do?
The Kennel ethos is to strive to breed excellent quality puppies with sound temperament , conformation and working capability. All of our dogs and offspring are registered with the UK Kennel Club and we are part of the accredited breeder scheme. Our dogs are tested for genetic problems, proven in the tracking world and selectively bred for looks, adherence to breed standard and tracking ability.
Zerno Bavarian Mountain Hounds is a family run kennel situated in South West Scotland. Our working and breeding stock has been imported directly from Poland.
We stock an extensive range of tracking equipment for dogs involved in tracking wounded deer. Please take a look at our online shop for quality leather collars, neoprene tracking harnesses and superb tracking leads.
Please checkout our fantastic scent shoes, ideal for training any dog to track wounded deer.
If you would like any advice about the sizing, please give us a call.
We have both been involved in field sports and in particular deer management for over twenty five years.
We first encountered Bavarian Mountain Hounds whilst managing Ministry of Defence land in Germany and were quick to realise what a great asset the breed is to both the professional and recreational stalker. Mark is a committee member of the South West Scotland branch of the British Deer Society and a member of BASC.
We are both committee members of the
Bavarian Mountain Hound Society of the UK.
Mark currently runs 'Dogs for Deer' training for the Bavarian Mountain Hound Society.
